PUCRS is the best private Higher Education Institution in the south of Brazil, according to the main national and international rankings, such as Times Higher Education, QS and Ranking Universitário Folha. The University has a number of facilities, including the University Hospital, Science and Technology Park (Tecnopuc), Science and Technology Museum (MCT), Sports Park, Brain Institute (BraIns) and Audiovisual Technology Center (Tecna). Today, it has more than 40,000 students, enrolled in both online and face-to-face programs. PUCRS also has an alumni network of more than 170,000 students. PUCRS is organized into 7 Academic Schools, offering 55 undergraduate programs, 23 graduate programs (Master’s and PhD) as well as 70 certificate and extension programs. Our Campus, sitting in an area as large as 55 ha, is home to the most modern Library in Latin America. The Irmão José Otão Main Library is located in a 14-floor building and has a collection of more than 1,5 items. The Campus is also home to Living 360º, an innovative teaching facility, inspired in international universities. It is equipped with classrooms that advance the use of active methodologies, thus making students the protagonists of their own learning. Additionally, the Rua da Cultura, a square located in the heart of the Campus, is home to concerts and events that foster cultural life and diversity and also connects students with arts. PUCRS has 226 international partners, in 36 countries, to ensure international cooperation in the several fields. Academic mobility, excellence research, courses in languages other than Portuguese, double degree programs, international courses and events are some of the initiatives of internationalization that the University is keen to offer. These initiatives confirm its vision to become an international reference in Higher Education through Innovation and social, environmental, scientific, cultural and economic development by 2022.
